How Mantra Bee Began

Mantra Bee was founded by Nicole, a natural formulator and yoga teacher from Brisbane, whose journey began when she became a mother. Standing in the supermarket aisle, she realised how many “natural” products contained hidden chemicals, synthetic fragrances and unnecessary plastic - so she started making her own. What began as a kitchen experiment in 2007 grew into Mantra Bee, first with a simple face and body oil and then a peppermint lip balm in 2009 that would become Mint Heart, the brand’s signature blend.

Handmade with Plants and Purpose

Today, Mantra Bee is still handmade by Nicole, her husband Travis and their daughter Aubrey. They use plant-derived ingredients and recyclable and compostable materials such as tin and paper, with each formula inspired by the wisdom of plants, the energy of the chakras and the rhythm of mindful living.

We love that Mantra Bee keeps things simple and thoughtful - from the ingredients they choose to the materials they use. It’s a lovely example of a small Australian family business creating everyday self-care with a little more intention.

Giving back is also part of the Mantra Bee story, with the brand supporting causes close to Nicole’s heart, including breast cancer support.
