How It All Began

The Richmond Candle Co. began in 2020 when Simon lost his job in the travel industry during the COVID pandemic. After receiving a candle-making kit from his partner Johan, he started learning the art of candle-making - and soon had more candles than they could keep! A simple post in their local community group changed everything, with the candles selling quickly and inspiring Simon and Johan to turn their hobby into a small business. What followed were pop-up shops, a wonderful local community and a growing group of loyal customers.

Born in Richmond, Melbourne, the business has since grown into an Australian home fragrance brand, creating and sending its products Australia-wide.

The Richmond Candle Co. trades on the land of the Dja Dja Wurrung people. They acknowledge their sovereignty and pay their respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Their mission is simple: to help people love where they live through the power of fragrance. From candles to home fragrance, their products are created to bring beauty, comfort and joy into everyday spaces, while being mindful of their environmental impact.
