Smooth, Sweet Carrots for Early Harvesting

Grow Carrot 'Baby Amsterdam' for smooth, slender and cylindrical carrots bred for harvesting young. These baby carrots have deep-orange, juicy and crisp flesh with a very sweet flavour. They are virtually coreless and have minimal foliage, making them suitable for denser plantings.

For larger carrots, simply allow them to mature in the ground for longer.

How to Grow

Soil

Prepare well-dug, friable soil that drains freely. Incorporate well-rotted organic matter and manure when preparing the beds.

Position

Plant in full sun. Baby Amsterdam carrots are best planted after a crop of nitrogen-hungry leafy greens.

How to Plant

Sow directly into the veggie patch. Create shallow trenches and sprinkle the seeds along the trench line. Once the seeds have germinated, thin the seedlings to allow the carrots enough room to develop.
