How to Grow
Soil
Prepare free-draining soil without excessive nitrogen, as too much nitrogen can encourage foliage growth at the expense of bulb development. Onions have a higher requirement for potassium, so apply wood ash or potash before planting.
Position
Plant in full sun, ideally following leafy green crops such as lettuce or cabbage.
How to Plant
Sow directly into the veggie patch when conditions are suitable. If conditions are too warm, propagate the seeds in a mini greenhouse and transplant once temperatures become milder.
