How to Grow

Soil

Prepare the soil with chicken manure before planting and ensure it is well draining. An application of lime can also benefit the soil as part of the preparation. Allow the soil amendments to settle for a week before planting.

Position

Full sun, up against a fence so allow you to trellis and use your space wisely. Plant where you have previously grown or are intending on growing tomatoes, eggplants or capsicum.

How to Plant

Sow directly into the veggie patch at a depth of 2–3 times the diameter of the seed. Create holes around 2–3cm deep using a chopstick or pencil, then place 2–3 seeds in each hole. Cover, gently pat down and water in.

Provide trellis support, particularly when growing against a fence, to help make the most of your available space.
