Loré Loré was founded by Melbourne knitwear designer Lorena Gonzalez, whose love of knitting began in childhood, learning the craft from the women in her family. After studying Textile Design at RMIT and spending time immersed in South Korea’s fashion scene, Lorena brought her experiences, creativity and cultural influences together to create Loré Loré in 2009. The name itself has a special meaning - “Loré Loré” was a nickname given to Lorena by her grandfather, making the brand a beautiful connection to family, heritage and the people who shaped her.
Today, Loré Loré creates all-Australian, all-natural, small-batch knitwear, made either by hand or on domestic knitting machines. Lorena works with a local family-run yarn supplier to source mill ends and leftover yarns, giving beautiful materials another life and helping keep production thoughtful rather than mass-produced. From Australian Merino wool, including locally sourced fibres from Victoria, to cotton and linen, each piece is designed to be versatile, timeless and loved for years. We love that Loré Loré brings together traditional craftsmanship, creativity and a more considered approach to fashion - values that make it a wonderful fit for Pookipoiga.
