How to Grow

Soil

Choose free-draining, moderately fertile soil and add compost before planting. Small Sugar pumpkins can tolerate a range of soil types.

Position 

Plant in full sun with plenty of room for the vines to spread. Position the pumpkin plants at the edge of your growing space so the vines can creep away from the garden bed.

Alternatively, use a sturdy trellis structure to train the plants vertically.

How to Plant 

Sow the seeds directly into the patch once daytime temperatures are regularly more than 20 degrees, otherwise propagate in a mini greenhouse and transplant. Pumpkins are more suitable for an in ground veggie patch.
