Fast-Growing Peppermint-Flavoured Mint

Grow Mint 'Peppermint' for its aromatic foliage and flavour closely aligned with peppermint. This fast-growing herb belongs to the Mentha family and can thrive in a wide range of growing conditions.

Because mint can spread prolifically and become root bound in smaller pots, it is best grown in a larger container where its growth can be managed.

How to Grow

Soil

Mint grows in a wide range of soil conditions, from free-draining to damp. Incorporate plenty of compost into the soil and consider feeding with seaweed extract once a month.

Position

Mint can grow in full sun through to shaded conditions, making it adaptable to different areas of the garden.

How to Plant

Sow directly into a container and allow the plants to germinate and establish there. Mint can be invasive, so growing it in a container helps keep its spreading growth under control.

Plant at least two seeds per hole and keep the soil moist until germination.

Growing in Containers

Choose a larger pot to give the roots enough room to grow. Smaller pots can become root bound quickly, which can affect the plant's health.
