How to Grow

Soil

Prepare the soil with fresh manure and compost approximately two weeks before planting. Incorporate organic matter to help improve the soil's water-holding ability.

Position

Plant in full sun. Swiss chard will benefit from some shade during warm weather, so consider planting it next to taller plants such as sweetcorn, or around onions and beetroot.

How to Plant

Sow the seeds directly into the veggie patch at a depth of 0.5–1cm. Allow 30–40cm between plants to give them room to grow.

Perfect For

  • Home veggie patches
  • Growing colourful leafy greens
  • Year-round vegetable gardening
  • Gardeners with sunny or partially shaded spaces
  • Green thumbs and gardening enthusiasts
  • Gardening gifts
